The inaugural Players Championship was played on Sunday, April 16, 2007, at Limestone Springs in Oneonta.  Two Majors rookie Eric Wade shot a brilliant front-nine 39 to take a commanding lead over Jeremy Burns and Chris Harrison.  But Wade made a quadruple bogey on the short par 4 14th, opening the door for Burns, who played a solid round, highlighted by a wedge to 1 foot on the par 3 7th.  Having not broken 90 in a previous Two Majors event, Burns is the only man to win a major as an amatuer.
