The second annual Players Championship was held at The Judge, Capital Hill, Prattville, on Sunday, Aprill 22, 2007.  Chad Gibbs cruised to a commanding lead after a front nine 40, but came back to the field after a triple bogy on the par 3 12th.  All players struggled on the back nine, especially the final three holes.  Kevin Carden and Justin Mosely both 3-putted the 18th green, just missing a playoff with Gibbs and Chris Harrison, who also both 3-putted 18.  Harrison's second putt from 3 feet would have given him the title.  In a bizarre playoff, Harrison's drive landed in the marsh, right of the fairway on #1.  Gibbs drive found land, but his second shot hit a tree and sailed into the lake.  Harrison's second shot evaporated, causing him to drop, then hit left of the green.  His sixth shot sailed over the green, all but ending his chances.  Gibbs, with the pressure off, stepped up and calmly drained his 35 foot putt for bogey, claiming his first major championship.  Low amatuer was won by Chris's dad, Darryl Harrison.
